Bangalore is the capital of the Indian State of Karnataka. Located on the Deccan plateau in the south eastern part of the southern state, Bangalore is India's third most populous city and fifth most populous urban agglomeration. It is Asia's fastest growing cosmopolitan city, today.

Bangalore is also the liveliest and most charming of all Indian Cities, youthful and vibrant beyond compare. It is a serene and spacious city, most popularly known as the Garden City of India with an enviable and salubrious climate to top it all, being fortunately at an altitude of 914 meters.

Bangalore is the country's main industrial city with eight huge industrial belts housing about 10000 industries. Today, as a large and growing metropolis in the developing world, it is home to many high tech public sector undertakings like the Hindusthan Aeronatautics Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited and Bharat heavy

The prestigious Indian Institute of Science and many Research and Development Establishments like the Indian Space Research Organization, National Aerospace Laboratories, Aeronautical Development Agency, Aeronautical Development Establishment, gas Turbine Research Establishment, Electronics and Radar Development Establishment, Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification are located here.

More recently Bangalore has become the "Silicon Valley" or the "byte-basket" of India, due to its pre-eminent position as the leading contributor to India's IT industry. Bangalore has developed into one of India's major economic hubs and is considered by many as one of the "best places to do business in the wired world". To top it all, Bangalore has an array of gardens and parks, natural lakes, architectural landmarks, huge shopping malls and the country's best restaurants and pubs. Bangalore is the ideal gateway to India and beyond.
